Finally - some GOOD news!!

I got a call today from my brother (the one who was suicidal a couple of months ago) with some good news, for a change.

Seems he got a note from Bank of America in the mail today, advising him to call them immediately. It seems that they have finally decided to give him a modified mortgage that will cost him about one-third what he had been paying. He has to call them the last week of this month, to make certain they have stopped all the foreclosure proceedings, before he sends in his first payment, but...

It means that he most likely will NOT lose his house!! He'll hopefully be able to unpack all the stuff that he'd packed up so far very soon.

Now, naturally this has me pretty ecstatic, because I really felt very bad that he was going to lose the house that he worked so hard and so long to acquire and fix up. Hopefully, he's learned his lesson in regards to credit, and between getting Social Security Disability (he's got a pacemaker, diabetes, bum knees, an arm that will never be completely "right" again after being shattered) and getting this modified mortgage, his life will once more turn around and be something he wants to live.

But you know the thing that could really piss me off, if I let it? B of A knew in July that the application for the modified mortgage had been accepted. JULY!! That means that about the time that he hit bottom and made his half-hearted suicide attempt, the bank had already decided to modify his loan - but neglected to tell him about it until TODAY.

He could have died, not knowing that things were going to look up for him.

I thank Whatever Is Out There for allowing his luck to finally seem to take a turn for the better. I'm grateful to Whoever Is Responsible that he might not lose his beloved home after all. And I hope that nobody else going through these horrific, trying times gave up too soon, or didn't have someone able to help sustain them through the darkest hours when their situation was already turning to the better.

And whoever delayed sending out this news deserves to be shot. Period. End of statement.

Meanwhile, my Muse is back - I'm writing again. Two chapters of Changeling, a section of IDD, a section of In The Elvenking's Forest and a double-drabble in the last 2 weeks. She wants me to focus on Changeling now - which is great, because I'm certain there are those out there who would like to see the next chapter in Ivoreth's saga. I have some interesting plans, and I'm starting to dream it now.

And I need to dig into my sheetmusic archives and find my copy of the Schubert A-minor piano concerto. Seems we have a piano/organ duet version of part of the first movement, and right now Nashoma has the music so she can make copies for herself. Needless to say, if I want to play that thing properly, I'm gonna have to start putting at least six to ten hours per week in on a more regular basis (and not just a month before a performance.) Oh yea, I also need to print out the piano solo version of Debussy's "Sunken Cathedral". I'd really like to tackle that at the same time, giving an interesting variety to my practices... :-D

Good news all around, I'd say...
