The World Is Changing - 1

Of course Thranduil and Elara have been demanding their share of my Muse's time. No mattter that I'm in the middle of working on other things, the Elvenking and his blind mortal friend seem to consider themselves entitled to completely hijack my time, my creativity - my keyboard - whenever they darned well feel like it.

So, without further ado, here is the next installment of their story - which ended up being two chapters long.

Finding Peace

Somewhere along the way, while working on the piece that has turned into a definite novel now (having long since passed 30k words and still growing - working title: "Light Fingers") I read one of TheTolkienTango challenges (#21: Silent); and the following just burbled up to the surface:

In The Dark

Well, my Muse really has returned with more than just a vengeance - I've been very busy working on a longer fic that is quite angsty. My poor writer's group has had its hands full helping me iron out the little details. The monster is up over 30k words now; and while I'm finally starting to feel the turn toward a finish-line, I know Musie won't let up on me very much until I can put "FIN" at the end of it.

However, every once in a while, something interesting bubbles to the surface. Teitho Challenges have been plot bunny breeding grounds - at least until this last month. Sorry - writing something that takes place in 24 hours just isn't getting the juices flowing. But last month's challenge, Dark Places, spawned an original female character that has yet to entirely let go of my Muse (or my Muse of the OFC - I can never be completely cetain about just how all these voices in my head interact with each other.)

That being said, I present for your reading enjoyment, ExpandIn The Dark )

The Wound That Never Heals

I'm really encouraged. My muse, who had ditched me 2 years ago as my mom's medical situation began to get really serious, has returned with a vengeance. I'm starting to dream my story plots again - and she pops up with some of the odd-ball stuff at random moments. I almost feel sorry for my writer's group - when my muse REALLY starts to cut loose, it gets hard to stem the flood!

Which is all by way of introduction to my newest LoTR short story. Beta'ed by NiRi and the wonderful folks at GoI, I proudly present ExpandThe Wound That Never Heals )
