Advent Calendar 2009 Drabbles 1 & 2
Dec. 2nd, 2009 01:43 pmI've decided to participate in this year's Advent Calendar 2009 Challenge, in which the cards of the Major Arcana of the Tarot are used as prompts, evoking archetypes. Today's posting is me playing "catch-up", as my Muse really liked this idea that she discovered just today.

This story just happened. I am still in the process of writing the sequel to Light Fingers, and suddenly Ivoreth turned around and told me the story of how she and her siblings managed to survive the Siege of Minas Tirith. It was a compelling story. I hope you enjoy it.

At the very end of The Return of the King, Tolkien had a cast of alpha elves on board the ship heading West. This little tale is an exploration of a discussion that might have arisen between Elrond, former Master of Imladris, and Galadriel, White Lady of Lothlorien.

Aearwen's Little Bits - I Saw Them
Dec. 27th, 2008 11:23 amOne of the things that I've enjoyed most about writing these drabbles while working toward that Stubborn Limpet Award at the Garden of Ithilien Writer's Workshop - one requiring a minimum of 100 original words written every single consecutive day for 100 days - has been the chance to explore characters that were either marginalized or simply assumed present by JRRT himself.
Have I said how much I enjoy drabbling lately? I didn't think so... :-D

Light Fingers 16 - Epilogue
Dec. 27th, 2008 11:04 amWith this, this chapter of Ivoreth's life comes to a close. I am, however, currently working on the sequel to this story - so be on the lookout for Elladaniel, coming soon. And now, without further ado...

Christmas Exchange Fic: First Impressions
Dec. 24th, 2008 07:50 pmThis year, there was a Christmas Fic Exchange at the Garden of Ithilien Writer's Workshop - and this is my contribution. Written for Vilwarin, who requested an Aragorn - Halbarad friendship fic:

Solving Old Mysteries
Dec. 13th, 2008 10:46 amFrom time to time, one of the monthly challenges that abound catch my Muse's attention, and she promptly graces me with an entry. This time, folks at the ALEC (A Long-Expected Contest) site liked my entry well enough that I won 3rd Place with it in the General category. The theme for the October ALEC was "Death and Dead Things." And now, without further ado...

Aearwen's Little Bits - Free At Last
Nov. 8th, 2008 11:15 amThe first four of the drabbles I'm going to post under my "Little Bits" Title are
mevrian's fault. While we were IM'ing, she sic'ed a bunch of plot bunnies on me, left a pile of carrots on my front porch to make certain the little critters wouldn't run away, and then walked away whistling while my ankles got royally chewed. My revenge, of course, was to trap the little beasties and tame them into exactly 100 words each.
Now that I've had them for a while, I've decided I like drabbles.
But blame
mevrian for getting me hooked on writing drabbles. As a matter of fact, I'm now in the middle of carrying out a challenge to myself to write a drabble a day for an entire month. I'm not doing NaNoWriMo; what I'm working on with these is called a "Stubborn Limpet" that is unique to the Garden of Ithilien Online Writer's Workshop that I belong to.
Anyway, here's the first tamed plot bunny: ( Free At Last )
